With the most magical time of year upon us, Christmas, we start to look ahead to the excitement of the Magic Millions January Yearling Sale and Racing Carnival. The Gold Coast is the setting for the start of the New Year for most commercial thoroughbred businesses, including ours.

 

 

We have a strong hand every year at Magic Millions in January, and we are now calling for expressions of interest from our ownership base to see who would like to be involved in the fun (the events) and the yearlings we secure in 2026.

 

Here is an example of what you are getting yourself involved in by joining forces with Gai and Adrian at Magic Millions.

 

 

In the past three Magic Millions January yearling sales, Adrian and Gai have conditioned 15% of the Stakes winning graduates, yet we train less than 4% of the racehorses sold at this sale.

 

This recent success is no surprise. This sale has been responsible for some of the biggest names in our stable for decades:

 

The Magic Millions Race Series now spans days, most notably the new 'Gold' race day run under the stars on the Saturday before the sale week (including the $3m Sunlight Slot race), and the main Magic Millions Race Day to conclude the Carnival, which includes 6 x $1m+ races headlined by the $3m MM 2YO Classic.

 

This feature race we have figured in prominently over the past three seasons too, filling the first four placings, just to show our racing success is current and consistent too. Storm Boy won in 2024, Platinum Jubilee and Summer Loving filled the minor placings in 2023, and this year The Playwright ran fourth, but won the $500,000 Ladies Bonus for her Tricolours connections.

 

In the main event in 2026 we have Shiki ($5) and Lumbini ($15) in the top 8 in betting. We also have The Three Hundred heading to the $1m MM Cup (1400m) after winning the Wyong MM 3yo and 4yo race, The Instructor on track for the MM Sprint (1100m), Shangri La Spring in great form leading into the $1m MM Stayers Cup (2200m), a few nice 2YOs set to land in the $500k Debut race, and a host of others a race away from booking their trip to the Gold Coast. We are also involving our owners in our 2026 Sunlight Slot with current favourite Grafterburners set to run for us.
