Hawaii Five Oh, Saturday 4th November, Rosehill Gardens, Race 8:
When he went to the paddock last preparation, I thought he might develop into the perfect Golden Eagle colt but understandably, after a discussion with his connections, Gai and Adrian devised a plan to get him to the $20mil. The Everest. They were spot on, and he blew me away second up when he arguably should have lowered the flag of subsequent Everest winner, Think About It. With the prizemoney on offer and the quality of horses taking their place, Saturday will be a high-pressure race. Part of me feels this will suit Hawaii Five Oh’s running style and the other part of me feels that it will bring stamina to the fore and he’s yet to be untested over further than 1400 metres. Last preparation I would have said of course he’ll get the distance, so I am sticking with him.
