Road Runner (NZ) was sourced and selected for The 'Bool! He is a slow-maturing, staying type, who has been allowed to 'take his time'. Very rarely is Rob as bullish and keen on a horse from New Zealand as he was on Road Runner. He is so lightly raced, and his win was incredibly impressive. Gai & Adrian will target him for the Jerico Cup and Warrnambool Carnival next year.
He is a slow-maturing, staying type, who has been allowed to take his time. At his first start, he was second to Ziggy Khan over 2100m, who franked the form by blitzing them subsequently at Woodville, coming from 11th on the turn in a fast run race. Road Runner showed a great turn-of-foot, he came from 8th early and 7th  on the turn. At his second start, he won a 3000m hurdle in fast time. His opponents were vastly more experienced, having had a median of 20 starts against his 2. He again showed fleetness, coming from worse than midfield and was wide though out. Road Runner started as $1.70 favourite in his most recent start where he broke his maiden on the flat. He put on a great galloping display, from 3rd last on the turn (7th), to win going away. What we love most about Road Runner is that he has only had one preparation.

His breeding is so encouraging, by twice leading 3YO sire Darci Brahma, the 2000 Guineas winner, out of Spring Cheer, who won the 3200m New Zealand Cup. Not a bad pedigree for a jumper. He is big and rangy and stands at 16.2HH. He is currently in full-training at our Flemington stable.
