Got Your Six Breaks Her Well-Deserved Maiden

What a rewarding moment it was to see Got Your Six break her well-deserved maiden in fine style at Newcastle on Saturday for our American based owner and loyal stable supporter Stuart Grant.  An unlucky second in her three career starts to date, we were very confident leading into this race that the filly would be hard to beat and she certainly did us proud.  Sent out the short-priced favourite, Got Your Six jumped well and was able to cross the field to take the lead where she got into a comfortable rhythm. Coming into the straight jockey Lee Magorrian clicked her up through her gears and the filly kept giving to win by an impressive 2.65 lengths.  Stuart Grant is having a fantastic run with his Sydney based horses with his last two runners having won by a combined four lengths.

The three-year-old daughter of Snitzel was a $140,000 purchase by his bloodstock agent, Andrew Williams Bloodstock at the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the draft of Newgate Farm.  Got Your Six was the first foal out of the well-bred Candy Ride mare Nutkin, who is a sister to four stakes horses in the US including a two-year-old Group 1 winner.

Got Your Six has come through her run in great order and we have nominated her to run in the Group 3 James H B Carr Stakes over 1400 metres on Saturday the 20th of April at Royal Randwick. It will be great opportunity to add some Black Type to this filly’s resume should she get a run. Let’s hope we can keep the winners rolling for Stuart Grant.
